It’s crazy to think that a sweet potato is healthier than a potato. Potatoes are amazing at spiking blood sugar, the reason they are at most ultra-marathon running tables. Not good if you’re trying to lose weight though, as we all know a high GI equals a subsequent high hunger.
Sweet potatoes, even though they taste sweeter than a potato, are a low GI starchy veg. Amazing, right? But it doesn’t stop there, sweet potato is a great antioxidant as well as an anti-inflammatory agent and can help with the reduction of multiple sclerosis (MS is the breaking down of the myelin sheath – the case that nerves are wrapped in).
